Welcome to the page for class 4. 

Our class is a mixed year class with both year 5 and year 6 pupils. The class is taught by Mrs Richardson and each morning we have a teaching assistant to help support the children’s learning.

Our Autumn topic based around ‘Law Breakers’ was a huge success and the children were immersed into the history of crime and punishment though Topic, Art, English and more. We had a crime scene in the classroom, created our own outlaws, made a collaborative piece of graffiti art (which can be found on display in our school hall), enjoyed a day in an escape room, and much more!

 

During the spring term, our topic will be ‘The Great Study of China’ where we will be immersed in the Chinese culture, both in modern day China and ancient China. We began the term with a wonderful day of workshops by One Day Creative, learning through drama and dance and the children had a fantastic day finding out all about the Shang Dynasty and learning how to ribbon dance!

We will also be taking a trip to the Planetarium at Rossall School to help build our knowledge on Earth and Space which we will be exploring as part of our Science this term.

We have also been very lucky to secure a weekly curling lesson at Barton Grange as part of our PE curriculum, ending with a tournament against other schools in the area. The term is proving to be jam-packed and fun-filled one already!
